Pillar 01

Digital Discovery

Demand is rarely something you have to create. Usually it already exists, in words you are not bidding on, in places you are not showing up. Discovery is the work of finding it — and proving what it costs to capture before you commit a budget to it.

The problem

Most acquisition budgets are allocated by habit

Someone chose Google and Meta in year one because that is what everyone does. The spend has grown every year since, the cost per lead has crept up with it, and no one has seriously asked whether a different channel would be cheaper — because nobody has the research to argue for one.

Meanwhile the tracking that would answer the question quietly broke somewhere between a consent banner, an iOS update and a site migration. Reports still generate. They just are not true any more.

Discovery fixes the measurement first, then goes looking for the demand you are not serving.

Signs you need this

  • Cost per lead has risen for three quarters and nobody can say why
  • Two reporting sources disagree and you have stopped trusting both
  • Your channel mix has not changed in two years
  • You cannot state what a customer costs you by channel
  • Sales says the leads are bad; marketing says the follow-up is bad
  • You are about to increase budget and want to know where to put it
What's included

Research, instrumentation, then capture

In that order. We do not run campaigns on measurement we do not trust.

Demand & intent research

What your buyers actually search, in their words not yours. Volume, competition and commercial intent for every cluster, plus the forums, subreddits, review sites and comparison pages where the decision really gets made.

Competitor teardown

Which channels your competitors are spending on, roughly how much, what they promise, what they charge, and where their funnel is weak enough to take share from.

Channel P&L

Every live channel reduced to one number: fully loaded cost per closed customer. Media, fees, tooling and the sales time it consumes. Some channels do not survive this exercise.

Tracking & attribution

Server-side events, consent handling, click-ID capture, CRM stitching and a single source of truth you own. Built so a browser update cannot silently delete your reporting again.

Offer & landing design

The demand you found needs somewhere to land. We design the offer and the page around the intent behind the query — not one generic page for every campaign.

Capture campaigns

Then we go and take it: paid search, paid social, SEO and content built against the ranked demand pools, with the tracking already in place to judge them honestly.

The process

Roughly six weeks, start to first campaign

01

Week 1 — Baseline

Access, data pull, and an honest assessment of what your current numbers can and cannot tell us.

02

Weeks 2–3 — Research

Intent mapping, competitor teardown, and channel P&L. This is where the surprises usually show up.

03

Week 4 — Instrument

Tracking rebuilt and verified end to end, from ad click to closed deal in your CRM.

04

Weeks 5–6 — Capture

Offers, pages and campaigns live against the top-ranked demand pools, with a reporting view you can read yourself.

Deliverables

What you actually receive

Documents you can act on without us, and infrastructure that stays yours.

Everything is built inside your own ad accounts, analytics properties and CRM. Nothing is locked to an APEXMRKTNG platform, because there is no APEXMRKTNG platform to lock it to.

Questions

Digital Discovery, specifically

Is this just an SEO keyword report?

No. Keyword volume is one input. The output is a decision about where to spend, which means it also has to account for competition, what a click costs, what your close rate looks like on that intent, and whether you can measure the result.

What if the research says our current channels are fine?

Then we say so, and the engagement gets cheaper. That happens more often than you would expect — and in those cases the money is better spent on the automation layer, where response time is usually the real constraint. See that pillar →

Do you need access to our ad accounts and CRM?

Yes, read access at minimum, and write access to implement tracking. We work in your accounts under your credentials with scoped permissions — we never ask you to move anything into ours.

How is this different from what our current agency does?

An agency retained on a channel is not the right party to ask whether that channel should exist. We have no channel to defend, which is the entire point of running discovery separately.
